| A request from Frances to post her recent thoughts.... 2/17/2000 Hi Carolynn, I always want anything I write to have maximum impact. So I have to be sure what I write is accurate and applicable to the case. I guess my site has had an impact and seems to be good in that it is getting attention and informing people properly, but a lot of people aren't aware that everything I've written was the result of 6 months hard work, and now I need to sit back and research more, to add to it. But everything is changing for the better now, in every area to do with the case, with other people getting involved in a way that Amirault didn't encourage. I know Amirault has my article Courtney Love's Modus Operandi on his site, he put it there on July 24th last year. He can keep it there or take it down, it's up to him. When I first sent him that article his reply was: "I think your ideas on CL and Kurt and Mary Lou Lord (whom I've met) are very perceptive. Most people aren't capable of picking up on those kinds of subtleties. I'm impressed." It was an early article written at the end of June 1999, before I had begun to look into un- named sources. You will see that I said, "a friend, possibly DeWitt, shot up heroin with Kurt". This would be acceptable to Amirault, because it would be easy for DeWitt to be replaced with Dylan. But once I started writing very detailed work on un named sources/media manipulation and got insistent about Dewitt, Amirault blanked me. After I had discovered that DeWitt was in Rome, and that certain facts had been "lost" over the years, I became absolutely convinced that Grant had very good and strong reasons to suspect DeWitt. I mentioned at the end of one article I sent to Amirault (on 29 Jul 1999) that I was going to put the Rome Incident under the same microscope and that I was going to be relentless, and again he never replied. He did gave me pathetic tasks to do though, eg: do a transcript of Broomfields introduction to Tom Grant in the film Kurt and Courtney. On 12/08/99 Amirault even sent me this email: "I need your detective skills. Please confirm that the name of CL's personal assistant is Jeanine Welsh. One way you could do this is by posting on the newsgroups, saying "I'm a huge fan of CL and would like to write a term paper about her and want to MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE she gets my letter. Does she have someone working with her, like a personal assistant or something, who will give it to her?" Be clever yet subtle. It's important. Thanks, Andrew" My reply to that was that I wouldn't use such tactics as a research method. Can you imagine if I had done what he asked? I could have found out any garbage and he'd have used it as fact! Then he asked me to write a list of threats by Courtney to journalists, including the ones in the "e mails from Courtney", so I did go through all that stuff and did a list, and even as I did it, I resented doing it. Because I didn't understand why he wanted me to do this to help out on the FBI investigation? After all, if the FBI was involved, they would be checking it out, not have some English girl do it!! So, while I was sending Amirault my work, he was requesting I did the above stuff. Which I found rather stupid, but did it anyway, even though it prevented me from spending as much time on my own work. I sent this email to Amirault on 12/9/99: Subj: video footage of Kurt on Feb 21st 1994Date: 12/09/99 "Hi Andrew, You are totally right in taking MTV/mainstream media to task with regards to them being a major contributor in Courtney's defence. The manipulation of the media in helping Courtney evade the consequences of her actions is outrageous. Melissa Rossi's book was the first to give power to the un-named sources whose statements confirmed that Kurt's was suicidal and using drugs excessively after Rome. Rossi's book was clearly manipulated by Courtney Love to combat any nagging doubts people might have had that Kurt was actually a normal person rather than a seriously unstable/depressed individual. Rossi went overboard on all this un-named source rubbish, and her book appeared as a response to Grant's claims, which he began to make public from Dec 1994. Rossi kept emphasising how depressed Kurt was in the days leading up to the Rome overdose, but I have recently aquired a video recording of Kurt at the Modena concert on 21st Feb 1994, where Kurt is joking with the audience. He does look unwell, but that's because physically he was. But Kurt made a reference to his future grandchildren, this is only 10 days before he is supposed to have tried to commit suicide. I have this on film, solid proof of this. This might be worth putting on your letters page. Just thought I'd let you know this information. Bye for now." I thought this would be welcome news to Amirault and that he'd want people to know this. But he didn't print it. Meanwhile, Marcin was putting my articles on his site, and I sent this to Marcin: Subj: Re: Kurt. Date: 04/10/99 "Hi, thanks so much for putting them on your page, thank you. Lets hope it will help the cause. I'll go to your site when I've finished this post. I'll send you the other articles too, and I'm writing more, but it may take a while, bye for now. Best Wishes, Frances." I wanted people to read what I had written. The mainstream press wouldn't print it, but I didn't understand why Amirault wasn't interested. Then I sent the transcript of the Reading Rock Festival to Amirault on Oct 14th 1999, and the following day I sent this email to Marcin: Subj: your new site.Date: 15/10/99 "Hi, great to hear from u, the site looks good. What more can we do? I spend my life trying to bring this to attention, the music mags don't wanna know. I can't understand why there is so little respect for Kurt by these magazines, Kurt was brilliant with his music, and he was such a special person, why is Courtney allowed to get away with it? Kurt was right, corporate magazines suck, but Courtney loves em, they are her best friend. I'm not her friend though, I recently got a bootleg video of her performance at Reading in august 1995, where she sings the words; "We are poison, we both killed him." I'm doing an article on this, with transcript of the show (I already sent it to Andrew Amirault.), and im gonna put it in the update section as soon as possible.) Bye for now, Frances." Again Amirault wasn't interested. I sent out that transcript to many people, and I had some very interested replies. I finally realised that Amirault wasn't interested in anything I wrote. But I sent out my writings by email to anyone and everyone including Amirault, nancy_spungen@yahoo.com,Courtney supporters, journalists at The Seattle Times and Post Intelligencer, music mags etc. etc. It is interesting that none of the so called "journalists" were interested, a wall of silence from them. So if you read Amirault's edited version of my Modus Operandi article on his site, see how he edited out my remarks on Tom Grant. Every opportunity Amirault had, he knocked Grant. He didn't like it when I wrote Grant was a man of integrity (in the original draft of the El Duce article.) and that Grant had extensive knowledge of the real circumstances, investigative skills, access to Courtney, Carroll, Erlandson and DeWitt (in the Modus Operandi article), was of major importance in this case, etc. etc. No doubt Amirault meant he would edit out any favourable comments I made on Grant, and any references to DeWitt, when he told me that although my overview was good, it needed editing. For some reason, Amirault didn't want anyone to read all this, it's almost like he has been: 1...Shielding DeWitt 2...Protecting Courtney by not sharing relevant information and not providing a reliable overview. Why would he do this? The fact that Amirault, Wallace and Halperin all failed miserably to report properly on DeWitt is strange. It is of great importance to know about DeWitt and to be grounded in facts. So everyone who wants this case re-opened must listen to what Tom Grant says and not allow themselves to be sidetracked by anyone else Bye for now, Frances |
