| This page consists of some questions from Tom Grants Case Study Manual that have been asked on radio programs and other media interviews as well as questions from readers. Even though some of the more popular questions have been answered numerous times, I've added questions that I felt would be more interesting to the reader. More questions will be added soon. Have any questions? Please email me. If Tom Grant has so much evidence, why hasn't he arrested these people? Why hasn't this been brought to trial? Even though private investigators like Grant are former police officers, they are now private investigators with no police powers granted by the state. A private investigator can only investigate and furnish information. PI's cannot file cases, press charges or make felony arrests in cases handled by local authorities. If the authorities choose to close their eyes, the only thing that will pry them open is public pressure. What motive would the Seattle Police Department have for covering up such a sloppy investigation? The short answer: professional pride, city politics and potential lawsuits. There have been other reports of 'copy cat' suicides since Kurt's death. Tom met with the police one week after Kurt died and by that time he had gathered enough evidence to show something was wrong with the events surrounding his death. It was too late, the 'copy cat' suicides have already begun and there was no way an outside investigator was going to overturn the official opinion on the cause of Kurt's death, and opinion that had already resulted in world wide media coverage and had cost the loss of additional lives. The Seattle Police deliberately misled Grant and the press. In addition, they've covered up important information and in general, they've demonstrated a lack of good faith when it came to finding the truth. Why isn't Tom sharing all of the information and evidence? Tom Grant has furnished sufficient amount of evidence to prove that this case needs to be reexamined by the authorities. Every piece of information he releases becomes one less 'tool' for future investigators and it also becomes one more detail given over for use by those attempting to cover up the truth. Fortunately, he has a rather large 'tool bin'. Once the Seattle Police deals publically with specific issues raised by this investigation, he will release addtional evidence that will warrant the re-opening of this case. Did Courtney Love pull the trigger? No. Courtney was invloved in the conspiracy that resulted in the murder of Kurt Cobain. Legally and morally, there is little difference between the person who plans a murder and the person who carries out the plan. When did Tom think that Cobain's death was a sucide? Every criminal investigation begins with suspicions which normally develop into conclusions. Grant would've never gone public if he wasn't personally convinced 100% of his conclusions. The day Kurt's body was found, Tom had enough evidence that something was wrong and initially his though was a 50/50 chance of probability of suicide versus murder. As things developed over the next few days, weeks and months, he became more and more convinced this was a murder, but the percentage was still around the 80% range allowing for 20% possible suicide. Nearly seven months after Kurt's body was found, Grant was going over his notes and other documentation and discovered additional evidence that put him way over the top. He knew Kurt was murdered. Was Kurt's head actually "blown off"? Due to the nature of the question, the information deals with graphic descriptions. If you are sensitive to reading blunt details -- skip this question. The visual images created by Courtney Love and others are actually much worse than the true images left in the wake of Kurt's death. Contrary to popular belief, the shotgun blast resulted in very little visible damage caused by an aberration that happens in small percentage of shootings of this type. This was an intra-oral discharge where the shotgun barrel was placed in the mouth against the hard pallet. The pellets from the shot remained inside the head penetrating and the shot did not exit. As a result, there was no blood or tissue splatter, typical in most shotgun blasts to the head. There was a pool of blood due to seepage and the damage inside the mouth could be observed, thus the police reports indicates; 'obvious trauma to his head.' But unlike the fake photos being passed around and grossly exaggerated visual images deliberately placed in the minds of Kurt's fans by Courtney, there was no gaping exit wound. Although, drawn and slightly distorted due to the beginning effects of decomposition, Kurt's facial features were all left intact and recognizable. He was finger printed for identification as a matter of procedure, not necessity as was falsely reported in the press. Does Courtney Love care about the privacy of Kurt's death? Courtney Love consistently exploits the death of her husband and during past interviews she had often pointed out that she was wearing some article of Kurt's clothing while telling about the events surrounding his death and his 'suicidal' personality. She also promotes false visual images by planting inaccurate and horrific details in the minds of already confused fans. During one interview, she cried hysterically as she talked about the prospect of Frances ever seeing a "picture of him with his f---ing head blown off." Courtney has known from the beginning that her husband's head was not shot off and any photos of a man with this head blown off are not photos of Kurt Cobain. So, why does she insist on promoting the ugliest, untrue, most violent image of a man she has claimed to have loved? Because it makes for good press!!! No one has exploited, capitalized or spread more 'suicide hype' than Courtney Love. When it comes to the 'privacy' of the family, no one has violated the dignity of Kurt more that his 'professional widow." What reaction has Tom gotten from Krist Noveselic and Dave Grohl? Tom doesn't discuss Krist and Dave because they have decided not to talk about Kurt's death publicly. He respects them both and he understands their decision. They are both in a tough spot. Krist and Dave had nothing to do with Kurt's murder. As for others not mentioned, he protects the identity of everyone he talks to. Many, if most of the people who cooperate with this investigation prefer not to have their names disclosed until this case goes to court. What about Dylan Carlson? Is he a suspect? Dylan was Kurt's best friend and is also a heroin addict. Tom is convinced that although Dylan was used by Courtney during this time, he had no knowledge that Kurt was going to be killed. What does Tom Grant plan to do next? He plans to continue to present this information to the public. This case will never be opened unless enough people believe it should be reopened. He is steadily gaining support and battling powerful people who are doing everything they can to keep the public from hearing about this investigation. Once this case is reopened, additional evidence will be provided that will eventually lead to the arrest and prosecution of the parties involved. All Tom can ask right now is for the readers to keep an open mind. There is much more to come. BACK TO MAIN |
